Lewes artist and makers market....

What a fab day. It was great fun being around such creative people. I particularly loved Liz Lake's work - a very talented artist. It was also lovely meeting some charming customers. They truly made the day wizard!
Here's a couple of pic's of my stall on the day......

A little note to say...

...MY WEBSITE HAS LANDED.

An apple a day

Here is one of my new designs I'm exhibiting in the artwave festival.
It's based on the poem about apples!.....

An apple a day keeps the doctor away
Apple in the morning - Doctor's warning
Roast apple at night - starves the doctor outright
Eat an apple going to bed - knock the doctor on the head
Three each day, seven days a week - ruddy apple, ruddy cheek

Everyone who's visited exhibition so far have been ubber dubber kind about my work.
Thank you.

Nut tree ...

Just finished my current cutting and am really pleased with it. It is a little bit smaller than my other paper cutting so the text is really really really tiny. It was quite a challenge, but definitely worth it.
This is one of a few pieces of artwork I'm designing ready for an exhibition in August. The exhibition is part of the Lewes Artwave festival and my work, along with a few other local artist, will be exhibited in the beautiful Typography shop at the top of the high street.

A misty morning...

Here's a photo I took of the south downs just outside my parents house on a cold misty spring morning. I love the colours filtering through this photos and I find the harsh lines of the pylon and its wires give the image some industrial beauty. Electricity pylons aren't every bodies cup of tea but I find them to be rhythm on unpredictable landscapes.

Tick, tock, tick, tock ....

Hmmmm ... It seems a theme is starting to develop on my subject matter. My new creation (pictured above) is based on yet another old nursery rhyme;

Hickory dickory dock,
The mouse ran up the clock,
The clock struck one,
The mouse ran down,
Hickory dickory dock.

I designed this cutting for a secret art sale happening soon in Sussex to raise money for Laughton Primary School. I think  I may make another one of these for my up and coming exhibition in the Lewes Artwave Festival.
My favorite part is the mouse. He's the same colour as my rabbit! He also has tiny feet.

Love it!

(Got a favorite nursery rhyme? Let me know and it might turn into my next cutting creation)

Letter "J"

Here is a work in progress production line of a present I did recently for a friend. Here name is Jess (reason behind the letter "J")
I enjoyed doing this cutting a lot, especially that it ended up all silver (although it took a long time to do!)

A wise old owl ...

A wise old owl lived in an oak,
The more he saw, the less he spoke,
The less he spoke, the more he heard,
Why can't we all be like that wise old bird?

A little taster of what I do.....

I was having a look over some previous work of mine and came across this little number.
I created it as a present for my boyfriend (always a good thing as you get to keep the work yourself!)
It's a little lovey-dovey but I like it.

Hello and welcome to my blog

Thank you for popping by.
Sorry there isn't much to see at the moment.
Watch this space.....
